Setting the conditions for a functional team supervision

The thesis deals with the issue of team supervision in social situations, especially from the perspective of the supervised. It focuses on internal and external factors that influence team supervision. The introduction of the thesis describes the importance of social services, team supervision and their appropriate conditions for implementation. A short qualitative research is based on this part of the work, and a part of it is a qualitative probe which is pointing to the state of team supervision in a non-profit organization providing social services. The result of this research probe is the evaluation of the obtained answers to the set questions, their comparison, and the list of suitable conditions of team supervision, which the probe has evaluated as relevant for this work. The main goal of this work was to find the ideal prerequisites for team supervision, compare them with problematic practice, and determine how to eliminate these problems, thus creating a functional team supervision.
Supervision as a support for workers in the organization of social services

The thesis deals with finding the support for employees in the organization of social services through supervision. The first part of the thesis is dedicated to the person of social worker, activities which he does, but also to the prerequisites necessary for exercise of this profession. Following is the introduction of supervision, its forms, functions but also the person of supervisor. The second part of thesis deals with finding ways to support supervision for employees of social services. This is where supervision is included into the life of organization, followed by the specification of conditions which the organization has when searching for supervisor. Subsequently, it is necessary to explain the process of supervision in organizations, but also the process of drawing up a contract between the contracting authority and supervisor. The last chapter of the thesis deals with the process of supervision in the organization Otevřená okna, z. ú., which provides support for people with disabilities, and subsequent search for support for employees through supervision.
Supervision of Social Workers within Authority for Social and Legal Protection of Children

Supervision is perceived in the helping professions primarily as a support tool, which tries to help increase the quality of work of employees and thus improves the overall quality of the service. Supervision should provide workers an overview of the situation and the ability to reflect on their own work, which can prevent occupational burnout. The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyse and describe the implementation of supervision, including possible risks, within Authority for Social and Legal Protection of Children. Qualitative research was chosen to achieve the goal of the empirical part of the work. The method of questioning and two techniques - semi-controlled and uncontrolled interview - were used to collect data. Data categorization and clustering method were chosen for data analysis. The analysis of the data revealed that social workers consider supervision as an important part of their profession, but the perception of supervision itself does not relate to the benefits of their supervision meetings. It takes place under the leadership of an external supervisor in the form of team case supervision, which usually takes place once every two months between two and four hours during working hours. The presence of management or a coalition between the supervisor and the supervisee is considered to be the greatest risk. Supervisors themselves perceive the benefits of their supervision in sharing cases related to the creation of a safe open environment. They also consider the coalition to be the main risk, but also the undue emotional commitment of the supervisor or the intersection of supervisor roles. This diploma thesis can serve as an informative material for social workers who provide social and legal protection of children, but also for students studying in the field of social work. For supervisors, as well as management and staff, the work could be meant as an inspiration for what they could improve and streamline in supervision.
Individual supervision for workers in residential facilities

The thesis deals with the significance of individual supervision of social workers in residential facilities. The first part characterizes social workers. It also describes this profession and the professional and personality qualities a social worker should have. The second part describes supervision, its functions and possible types. It also contains a detailed description of individual supervision, the course of a supervisory meeting as well as the significance of the supervisory relationship, and mentions certain techniques that may be used as part of individual supervision. The third part addresses the introduction of individual supervision into residential facilities. It contains the characteristics of residential facilities, decisions leading to the introduction of individual supervision into an organisation, criteria for the selection of a suitable supervisor, contracting process, fields of worker reflection and the completion of supervision. The final part deals with individual supervision of social workers in the Retirement Home Hvízdal in České Budějovice and with reflection of theoretical findings in practice in the said retirement home
Supervision of workers in social servicas in residential institutions

This bachelor thesis describes the importance of the supervision of the social workers within the limits and frameworks of the long-term stay institution.In the first part of the thesis, I describe kinds, forms, functions, and methods used during the supervision process. I describe the supervision process more in detail. The next two chapters further describe the social services in general. In the last two chapters , I am coping with the importance of the supervision. I compare the theory with my own practical experience.

The diploma thesis on the topic Role of supervision from the perspective of social work in the organization Barevný svět dětí, z. s. contains definitions of basic concepts related to supervision, history and development of supervision, description of functions and types of supervision, supervision contract, supervisors and process model of supervision. Another part of the work characterizes the organization Barevný svět dětí, z.s., especially project "Kámoš", which deals with the work. Supervision in the Social Work

v anglickém jazyce Supervision is one of the possibilities of professional support, which helps in solving difficult working situations. They imply challenges, personal constraints and ethical issues. Uncertainties can be on the both sides of the social worker and his client. Supervision should not be a check of incorrect decisions or supervision of the choice of work outcomes. On the contrary, the supervisor should be supportive of his clients and provide them professional and correct leadership to ensure the quality of their work. The diploma thesis deals with the interconnection of supervision with burnout syndrome. The theoretical part draws attention to the preventive nature of the supervision process and the risks that are threatened in the absence of supervision. Both concepts, supervision and burnout syndrome, are described and explained in the diploma thesis. The theoretical part of the thesis contains basic terminology, division and important participants in such cooperation. The second section describes the situation regarding the use of supervision and the rate of burnout syndrome in selected social workers. The results of this survey are shown in the charts. Supervision in Institution of the Institutional Care

Supervision is a discipline, which operates in the field of helping professions, however it is still very new in the field of institutional care. Only in 2010 came the effort of the Ministry of education, youth and sports to anchor the need of supervision, which happened through the Methodical instruction for providing supervision in school institutions for exercising institutional care or preventive education, and in school institutions of preventive educational care. Methodical instruction contains a set of recommendations regarding the realisation of supervision in the institutions run by the Ministry of education, youth and sports. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to find out and describe on the basis of theoretical resources, if and how is the supervision realised in the institutions of institutional care and how is it perceived by its actors - pedagogical workers. To achieve the goals of bachelor thesis, the strategy of qualitative research was chosen. To gather the data in the empirical part, the technique of half-structured questionnaire and half-controlled interview was chosen. From the results of the research emerged that the institutional workers perceive the supervision overall as positive, even though it was not always that way. Earlier, the negative feelings originated first of all from the lack of knowledge about and minimal experiences with supervision. Today, the workers perceive the supervision as necessary and needed. From the research also emerged clear reasons of the absence of supervision in some institutions, which are mainly insufficient financial resources and non-acceptance of supervision by some workers. Last but not least, it was found out that the supervision in institutions proceeds by standards listed in the professional literature or according to recommendations in the Methodical instruction.
Supervize perception of social workers depending on the length of their practice

This diploma thesis is dealing with topic of supervision, especially with its perception by social workers depending on length of their working experience. Supervision is mostly perceived as a resource for professional growth of employees or as prevention against burnout syndrome. Regardless of how supervision is perceived, we cannot disclaim it has significant influence in area of helping professions. The goal of practical part is to describe opinions of social workers on supervision according to the length of their working experience. To find this aim out were defined two research questions: 1. How social workers perceive supervision? 2. How their opinions have been changing in the course of their working experience? For reaching out this goal was chosen qualitative strategy, method of questioning. Interviews were not controlled. The obtained data were afterwards elaborated by method of clustering. Based on the obtained results I suppose goal of this thesis was fulfilled. I found out how social workers perceive the supervision with an effort to take into account the influence of increasing working experience on that perception with taking their working experience into consideration. Social workers perceive supervision very positively in general. As well they perceive supervision as part of their profession. The supervision is perceived more negatively during the high school or university studies. However opinions of respondents on supervision were not significantly changeable during working experience. Results of this diploma thesis may be used as informational material for employers which are responsible for provision of supervisions in social services organisations. As well may this thesis be a resource of interest for social workers who are unsatisfied with supervision and have negative attitude to it.
